1. Motorcycle chains are classified according to structural form:
(1) Most of the chains used in motorcycle engines are sleeve chains. The sleeve chain used in the engine can be divided into timing chain or timing chain (cam chain), balance chain and oil pump chain (used in engines with large displacement).
(2) The motorcycle chain used outside the engine is a transmission chain (or drive chain) used to drive the rear wheel, and most of them use roller chains. High-quality motorcycle chains include a full range of motorcycle sleeve chains, motorcycle roller chains, motorcycle sealing ring chains and motorcycle toothed chains (silent chains).
(3) Motorcycle O-ring seal chain (oil seal chain) is a high-performance transmission chain specially designed and produced for motorcycle road racing and racing. The chain is equipped with a special O-ring to seal the lubricating oil in the chain from dust and soil.
Motorcycle chain adjustment and maintenance:
(1) The motorcycle chain should be adjusted regularly as required, and it is required to maintain good straightness and tightness during the adjustment process. The so-called straightness is to ensure that the large and small chainrings and the chain are in the same straight line. Only in this way can we ensure that the chainrings and chains will not wear too fast and the chain will not fall off while driving. Too loose or too tight will accelerate the wear or damage of the chain and chainrings.
(2) During the use of the chain, normal wear and tear will gradually elongate the chain, causing the chain sag to gradually increase, the chain to vibrate violently, the chain wear to increase, and even tooth skipping and tooth loss. Therefore, it should be Adjust its tightness promptly.
(3) Generally, the chain tension needs to be adjusted every 1,000km. The correct adjustment should be to move the chain up and down by hand so that the up and down movement distance of the chain is within the range of 15mm to 20mm. Under overload conditions, such as driving on muddy roads, frequent adjustments are required.
4) If possible, it is best to use special chain lubricant for maintenance. In real life, it is often seen that users brush the used oil from the engine on the chain, causing the tires and the frame to be covered with black oil, which not only affects the appearance, but also causes thick dust to stick to the chain. . Especially in rainy and snowy days, the stuck sand causes premature wear of the chain sprocket and shortens its life.
(5) Clean the chain and toothed disc regularly, and add grease in time. If there are rain, snow and muddy roads, the maintenance of the chain and toothed disc should be strengthened. Only in this way can the service life of the chain and toothed disc be extended.
